Davao Attractions June 8, 2013

If you are looking for inland resorts in Davao City, you might want to check the list below. I have listed some of the most popular inland tourist attractions (in no particular order) in the city based on people’s recommendations as well as on social media mentions.

D’ Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park

It is a 26-hectare inland resort located in Cummunal, Cabantian, Buhangin, which is about 20 to 30 minutes ride from the airport. This place offers a number of attractions that you and your friends might want to experience. Wavepool, zipline, and wall climbing are just some of its facilities you can try. But if you only want a sightseeing, you can do that as well – you just need to pay the entrance fee, which is 50 pesos for adult and 30 pesos for kids. D’ Leonor’s other rates and charges(such as for accommodations) and other come at fair price as well.

Eden Nature Park & Resort

Eden Nature Park is another inland resort (mountain resort, specifically) that you can try when you are vacationing in the city – located in Eden, Bayabas, Toril, Davao City. The resort is a bit far from the heart of the city (1 to 2-hour taxi ride) but for a person who wants a perfect getaway, the resort becomes a must-visit haven. This place, which is located 3000 feet above sea-level is home to different species of flowering plants and trees – you will truly be back to mother nature when you get to the place. The resort also offers various amenities and accommodation facilities that will give you a perfect stay – swimming pool, zipline, restaurant, and trekking trail are just some that you can try. The place cater both family and business-related gatherings. Eden’s entrance is between 400 to 500 pesos (during the time of our visit in 2012), which includes buffet lunch, pool, and other sightseeing activities. Visit its official websitefor Eden Nature Park’s rates and more of what it offers.

Loleng’s Mountain Spring Resort

Just a few kilometers below Eden Nature Park is another getaway that is ideal for both business and social gathering – seminar, conventions, retreats, weddings, parties, etc. The resort boasts of its various amenities, which include a swimming pool, a fishing and boating village, function halls, restaurant, and sports facilities. It accepts both reservations and walk-in visitors. It also offers a number of places for accommodation – from cottages to dormitory-type accommodations. Checkout its rooms and rates page for more details.

Ermelyn’s Inland Resort (formerly, the Villa Carmelita Inland Resort and Hotel)

This resort is perhaps one of the most accessible resorts in the city as this is just about 20 to 30 meters from the highway. Strategically located in Crossing Bayabas, Toril (about 45-min ride from the city proper), the resort facility offers a perfect place for those who love swimming pool parties and other gatherings. The entrance fee is 100 pesos for adults and 70 pesos for kids. The place also has rooms to accommodate those who want to stay longer – like a day or two. For more, you can check out this post: Weekend at Villa Carmelita Inland Resort– for more info about the resort.

Malagos Garden Resort

Malagos Garden Resort is one of the most popular inland resorts in Davao City, in my opinion, considering its various exposure to broadcast media (including the Kris TV feature). This place offers various attractions and amenities that will surely bring you even closer to mother nature, which include a bird park, waling-waling forest, bird feeding and watching dome, butterfly sanctuary, orchid farm, petting zoo, and more! The resort has also various accommodations to choose from. Visit Malagos Garden Resort tour package and rates page or contact themfor more details.

Forest Hill Resort

Located in Balusong, Matina, Davao City, Forest Hill Resort is another inland resort that is just a 30-minute taxi-ride from the city proper. It is another yet a place that offers a nice place to relax and enjoy. The entrance fee is 60 pesos, which allows you to use a cottage and the pool. If you want the place to be exclusively used by you and your group, you can have it for 16 thousand pesos (Mon-Thu) and 18 thousand pesos (during Fridays and weekends). The resort’s amenities include function hall, canteen, open cottages, swimming pools (for both adults and kids).

Villa de Mercedes

Located in Catigan, Toril, Davao City, Villa de Mercedes is another inland resort that offers, apart for its nice facility, a perfect view of the majestic Mt. Apo and a panoramic view of the city and the Davao Gulf – truly, a place for relaxation and enjoyment. What is so unique with this resort is that its infinity pool, which is quite big, is adorned with sands on it sides, making you feel as if you are in a beach resort. The last time I checked in that place, which was last year (2012), the entrance fee was 150 pesos, which allows you to enjoy the pool and other amenities – there could be an increase but for sure, not that high. The place also has a restaurant where you can order the usual menu for parties and vacations. You can reach the place by a taxi ride. For more, visit Villa de Mercedes business listing.

So, that would be all for now folks! I’ll update this list as soon as I have found a new and nice place that is worthy for inclusion. Have a great vacation!
